Terms & Conditions
Wheaton Works
Welcome to Wheaton Works. By scheduling services, requesting an estimate, purchasing a maintenance plan, or using this website, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions. These terms are intended to clarify expectations for both Wheaton Works and our customers.
1. Services Provided
Wheaton Works provides residential handyman, home maintenance, seasonal inspection, repair, minor improvement, roofing repair, fence repair and installation, and related property service offerings. Service availability may vary by project type, location, scheduling, materials, weather, and technician availability.
All services are subject to on-site evaluation and confirmation. In some cases, conditions found during inspection may require a revised estimate, expanded scope, referral to a licensed specialty contractor, or postponement of work.
2. Service Area
Wheaton Works primarily serves customers in Greenville, Anderson, and Spartanburg, South Carolina, along with surrounding service areas as approved. Travel outside normal service areas may be subject to additional fees.
3. Estimates and Pricing
All estimates, quotes, pricing tables, maintenance plan rates, package rates, and service descriptions shown on this website are for general informational purposes and may be updated at any time without notice.
Final pricing may vary based on:
actual site conditions
accessibility of the repair area
material availability and cost
hidden damage or previously unknown issues
time required to complete the work
customer-requested scope changes
safety concerns or code-related conditions
Quoted pricing typically covers the specific scope listed in the estimate only. Additional work requested before, during, or after service may result in added charges.
4. Inspection and Maintenance Services
Seasonal visits, annual plans, routine inspections, and handyman checklists are designed to identify visible and reasonably accessible maintenance concerns at the time of service. These inspections are not exhaustive home inspections, engineering evaluations, mold assessments, pest inspections, code compliance certifications, or guarantees that all issues will be discovered.
Inspection findings are limited to conditions visible and accessible at the time of service. Wheaton Works is not responsible for concealed defects, pre-existing damage, or issues located behind walls, under flooring, above finished ceilings, underground, or in otherwise inaccessible areas.
5. Minor Repairs and Handyman Scope
Wheaton Works performs minor repairs and maintenance tasks within the agreed scope of service. Certain projects may fall outside handyman service limits and may require a licensed plumber, electrician, HVAC contractor, roofer, engineer, or other specialty professional. Wheaton Works reserves the right to decline, stop, or refer out any project that exceeds safe or appropriate handyman scope.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customers agree to provide safe and reasonable access to the work area, including access to utilities, gates, pets secured away from work areas, and any necessary property entry instructions. The customer is responsible for disclosing known issues that may affect scheduling, safety, or project completion.
Customers are also responsible for removing fragile, valuable, or obstructive items from the work area before service begins unless otherwise agreed in writing.
7. Scheduling and Arrival Windows
Appointment dates and arrival windows are estimates and may be affected by weather, traffic, material delays, emergency call changes, project overruns, or other unforeseen circumstances. Wheaton Works will make reasonable efforts to communicate schedule changes as promptly as possible.
8. Deposits and Payments
Certain jobs may require a deposit before scheduling, material ordering, or project start. Remaining balances are due according to the terms stated in the estimate or invoice. For smaller service calls, payment is typically due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Late or unpaid balances may be subject to collection efforts, suspension of future service, or reasonable late fees where permitted by law.
9. Materials
If Wheaton Works supplies materials, those material costs are included only as specified in the estimate. Material pricing may change due to vendor cost increases, availability issues, substitutions, or customer-requested upgrades.
If the customer chooses to provide materials, Wheaton Works is not responsible for delays, defects, incorrect quantities, compatibility issues, color mismatch, product failure, or warranty limitations related to customer-supplied items.
10. Change Orders and Additional Work
Any work requested outside the original quoted scope may require updated pricing and approval before completion. Verbal approvals, text approvals, email approvals, or on-site customer authorization may be treated as acceptance of additional charges when extra work is requested during the appointment.
11. Roofing and Exterior Repair Limitations
Roofing repairs, fence repairs, exterior sealing, and similar services are based on visible conditions and limited repair scope unless otherwise stated in writing. Spot repairs and maintenance services are intended to address specific issues, but they do not guarantee that all leaks, structural weaknesses, weather-related failures, or future deterioration will be prevented.
Exterior work may be delayed or rescheduled due to unsafe weather conditions, moisture, temperature limitations, or material curing requirements.
12. Fence Installation and Repair
Fence services may be affected by grade changes, hidden underground obstructions, utility lines, root systems, prior improper installation, soil movement, and property boundary issues. Customers are responsible for confirming property lines, HOA requirements, and any approvals needed before work begins unless otherwise stated in writing.
13. Hidden Damage and Unforeseen Conditions
Wheaton Works is not responsible for hidden rot, mold, water intrusion, insect damage, structural failure, outdated wiring, plumbing issues, code violations, or other concealed conditions discovered during or after work. If hidden conditions are found, work may be paused until a revised scope and price are approved.
14. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Customers must provide reasonable notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Missed appointments, last-minute cancellations, or no-access situations may be subject to a cancellation or trip charge.
If weather, unsafe conditions, illness, supply delays, or emergencies affect scheduling, Wheaton Works reserves the right to reschedule service as needed.
15. Warranties and Workmanship
Wheaton Works may provide a limited workmanship warranty on eligible completed work, as stated in writing on the estimate or invoice when applicable. This warranty does not cover:
normal wear and tear
customer misuse or neglect
acts of nature or storm damage
unrelated failures
movement of the structure or surrounding materials
pre-existing conditions
customer-supplied materials
repairs altered by others after completion
No warranty applies unless the customer has paid in full for the completed service.
16. No Guarantee of Code Compliance Upgrades
Unless specifically stated in writing, repair work does not include full code upgrades, redesign, permitting, or bringing unrelated portions of the home into current code compliance. Recommendations may be made when unsafe or outdated conditions are visible, but Wheaton Works is not responsible for correcting conditions outside the approved scope.
17. Permits and Approvals
Unless specifically included in writing, the customer is responsible for obtaining any required permits, approvals, HOA permissions, surveys, or authorizations related to the requested work.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Wheaton Works shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from services provided, delays, hidden defects, property conditions, manufacturer failures, weather events, or customer misuse.
Any claim related to services rendered shall be limited to the amount paid by the customer for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
19. Website Content Disclaimer

20. Right to Refuse Service
Wheaton Works reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service for unsafe conditions, abusive behavior, inaccessible job sites, suspected fraud, hazardous materials, dangerous animals, illegal activity, or work that falls outside company’s scope or standards.
21. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina.
